Roger Parloff has always thought of himself as a legal writer, but he's also done business reporting. How do you think about the parameters of your career? He was broader at American lawyer because there was a lot of criminal stuff. At Fortune I did antitrust, digital copyright, which was very exciting with Napster. There was pure tech, tech things, which were also quite interesting, early artificial intelligence stuff. And some, I did one about a Ferrari rally and I drove three Ferraris over a three-day stretch from Napa Valley to Monterey.
