Why Is There No Mention of Paul in the Gospels?

There is no mention to Paul in the gospels. The story is about Jesus and Paul lives a generation later. To actually mention Paul, I mean, where would he fit in the story? So it would rather give the game away if you actually mention Paul by name. That's clear to everybody at the time that that would be weird.
