Hygienic Madernity in China

This work was really in large part inspired by ruth ragaski's work on hygienic madernity. She did start to peel the layer back on women, and particularly in her analysis of advertisements directed specifically toward women. And also this whole idea of oral history, which also inspires me as a literary scholar. Every one of my books, as i foresee in the near future, will be beengaging with that idea. What i find to be true is that a very distinct facet of hygieno-madernity in china is that it can never be achieved. It's like that elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
