There's a sudden new found attachment to internationalism among people in a declining hedgemon who have bet worrd about being overtaken by a new imperial power. Maybe the americans will suddenly discover a great love for the u.N over the next few decades? Yes, absolutely. There is this sense that if the organization can be use if you can sort of marry principles and interest, and that's when it's going to be most effective. And i think the league of nation points to some the way forward in that respect. It's a crazy dream,. max, that we might bgettin people to see reason wet're still fighting that 101 years long.
