"I don't want to create a situation for resentment. Like that kid that I just won't do it," she says of her long-distance relationship. "My parents got divorced when I was a sophomore in college, so my big deal was like, I don't need to slow down as you call it." She dated an emotionally abusive man who sometimes physically abused her during the time they were together. 'It's really driven by altruism and selflessness,' she adds.
