The First Meeting of the Church Elite in Modern History
It was the three year long conference of the church elite initiated by Paul 23rd in the hope of reforming the church for engagement with the modern world. The aims were to make the Catholic liturgy more accessible and participatory for the everyday faithful, increase dialogue between the denominations and to heal historical schisms. So there is there is soul searching. There's also the reflection going on about Vichy and, you know, papal complicity.
