Nobody has reigned as long as queen elizabeth the second. 70 years is a record in britain and in europe, she is only beaten by louis the fourteenth of france,. ann who came to the throne as a child. So it's an unprecedented length of time. And so that alone really makes her stand out. She promised back on her 20 first birthday that she was going to do her duty and do it for as long as possible. I doubt she thought that it would be 70 years. A lot of people are really struggling with this sense of loss.
