The Importance of Industry Experience in Data Science
I agree with you it is disappointing because in addition to your points it is such a flexible profession. If I was recruiting for data scientists right now and I was in a specific industry the last thing I would put on my job description is industry specific experience as ultimately that is not relevant at all. It really requires someone to have a certain amount of industry experience that is where I would say I understand it yeah.
