The Effects of Alcohol on Addiction
A drug called Dysulfuram, sold under the brand name Antibus, intentionally causes acetaldehyde to build up in your body when you drink. The dose that people usually take is so powerful that even a tiny amount of booze would cause the patient to vomit violently. Many such people still like to drink, but they can really only have one or maybe two drinks with dinner and start to feel really sick. This provides a natural disincentive for abuse.
