Osteoarthritis is typically seen as this old person disease, but we've seen more and more young people have the disease if someone in their 40s had quite severe osteoarthritis. What you need to do is have a conversation with the patient around the benefits, risks, and alternatives of all the options. You don't just look at a CT scan and do an operation, you go meet them and you talk to them and say what's up? It's on a case by case basis. More and more we're learning that doing prehab rehabilitation before your surgery gets you a better outcome. So treat the patient not the scan? Absolutely. And general surgery is the same
