The last conflict that you watched closely was the overrun, overrunning of afghanistan. The arab springs were a really interesting thing for me because i'd already gone through cosavo and seen what had happened in estonia when russia brought stonia to a standstill. I think we saw very quickly that social media posts were being used by the authorities then to trace and crack down on protesters. In other cases, such as libya and syria, public pressure was suddenly overwhelming. And i think there could be a fascinating new kind of tech commentator who talks about tapit la spoi at one point or another.
