Reagan's Relationship With Margaret Thatcher
Oleg Gordievsky was very, very good at passing information about the sort of mentality of the Kremlin. Reagan came to power and his perfect counterpart was Margaret Thatcher. They got on fabulously like a house on fire. At one level, they were both very, very anti-Soviet and keen to bring an end to the Cold War. And so that sort of rhetoric changed things.
