Catherine's Escape From a London Hotel

Catherine Higgins is on the run after being accused of poisoning Thomas Higgins. She has managed to make it as far as Edge Hill train station, where she asks for directions. Catherine then heads east and finds lodgings at a house in Mount St Vernon Street. But after five nights, it's clear that she's got to move on again. The sale of pure arsenic had become regulated over the course of the 19th century but was still used in pest control. They bought fly paper, which contained arsenic, brought it home and soaked the arsenic out of the fly paper into little bottles that they could then use in tea, in food to poison their victims.
