Alstom's Success - I'm Not Sure

G e needed to do something the company's oil and gas services, which revolved around actually extracting oil or making the equipment that would be used for sort of stuff. Not everyone at g was crazy about acquiring also, several felt that the asking price was far too high. But emmalt was optimistic that g e could take alstom and turn it into a profitable business. And i'm guessing it filled a lot of folks at g e with a bit of dismay to see that once it was free of general electric, this former division actually out performed all expectations.
