The Cost of Finding Bugs in Requirements
Gerald Weinberg talks about this in his wonderful book called Exploring Requirements. He says that the cheapest place to find a defect is actually in the requirements. And yet he shows from his studies that it can be a thousand to 10,000 times more expensive to find the bug in production than it was to find it in the requirement phase. The sooner we can find those problems, the better.
