In 1990, Ajmer and just like today, the major Muslim landmark was the Ajmer Sharif. Moinuddin Chishti arrived in Delhi from Iran under the reign of Emperor Iltutmesh. The powerful Muslim clergy that came to look after the Darga came to be known as the Khadims of Ajmer. This story begins with these three men, Paruk, UNVIR and Nafis and their ties to the Sophia school in Ajmer. It is consistently ranked as one of the finest boarding schools in the country.
