Inflation Expectations - Is That a Good Thing?
The expectations index, which is based on consumers short term outlook for income, business and labor market conditions, that fell to 86 point six from 92 point eight. I think what we're just saying here is a very cautious consumer, right? So we've seen a little bit ofa decline in their expectations for the economy over the short term,. jobs in particular, also a little less so in income. We expect consumers to continue to spend and support economic growth.
