The Different Types of Distal Radius Fractures
The distal radius is responsible for 80% of axial load. It articulates with the skefoid, lunate and ulna via three columns. The radial column functions as a buttress to resist radial-carpal translation. A chauffeurs fracture is a radial styloid fracture; a collie's fracture is a low-energy, dorceally displaced, extra-articular fracture.
