The book is a critique of critical theory. It was written in frustration with the abstract and excessive theoretical at times, or too highly philosophical and unrelated to the world. I try to draw a more copious notion of critical theory that really finds its roots in the nineteenth century. And so i think it's very much con ation with the direction that the frankfort school took as well as post colonial thinkers such as michel foucot.
