The mini-budget goes… (When) does Liz Truss follow?
This Is Why

Is the Prime Minister Hitting Under the Desk?
It was utterly bizarre spectacle in the House of Commons because we had expected to see Liz Truss and then she wasn't there. Penny Mordent was being asked where she was. I think it has transpired that she was actually in a meeting with Gray and Brady, the Chair of the 1922 Committee. It's likely that they discussed how bad of a situation she was in. The fact that the Prime Minister swerved the opportunity to answer that urgent question in favour of going to speak to the guy who holds her political future, perhaps in his hands? Doesn't that rather suggest that she placed her political future ahead of the interests of the country? Well, Labour certainly have argued that.
