The Deficit Myth

Aaron Carroll: I was really curious about that feature of the book. The main character Martin Henge is a forensic accountant, kind of like looking at how money moves and tracing its movement through cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies all across the world to tax havens and so on. He's friends with Raza, his heterodox economist friend who he describes as an "amalgam" of two people in modern monetary theorist Stephanie Kelton and Fidel Kabub. Carroll: MMT has profound implications for leftist projects but you don't have to buy those implications or even care about them to just say this is just true; we got to stop talking about federally funded projects being funded with taxpayers money.
