Arkansas has begun carrying out its plan to execute eight prisoners in less than two weeks using a lethal injection drug that critics say fails to sufficiently sedate death row inmates. The Supreme Court ruled five to four to allow the first execution of Liddell Lee who was convicted of murdering a young mother 20 years ago but legal challenges will prevent Arkansas from executing all eight inmates this month.
