Can You Clarify Your Question?

Sometimes we understand so little about what they ask. It's hard to know what to ask as a right, what to ask them of how to plug. You can't ask a detailed question if you didn't understand anything that the person asked. And then this next one I love, because sometimes people are just really broad in their question. So could you be more specific or could you give me an example, even better?
