How to Be a Successful Designer

I think that sometimes holds people back where they feel like they have to learn everything before they can take the job. I've never worked under a designer who's more senior than me in terms of their skill set. And so it's always had to be the self-directed learning where basically I'm exploring problems outside of work just because work isn't presenting problems or learning opportunities for me as part of the day to day. Any designer who has the opportunity to work on those sorts of things that will challenge their skill set should absolutely do it. It's a much more natural way to learn, like I said.
