Routine Infections Becoming Harder to Treat

Antimicrobial resistance, or AMR, is often described as a silent pandemic. With antibiotics losing their effectiveness due to overuse and misuse, we look at how serious India’s AMR burden is and why drug-resistant infections are rising. The Indian Express' Rinku Ghosh and Shashank Bhargava speak with Dr Kamini Walia of the Indian Council of Medical Research about what is driving this crisis and what can be done to slow it.
