Is This a Spy Balloon?

China has called the balloon a civilian airship used for research. The US has described it as one craft and a fleet of spy balloons with links to the People's Liberation Army. One possibility that US officials have considered is whether winds might have pushed the balloon off its original course in South of the Canadian border. Can you imagine an article being written about how the United States had 10 high-altitude balloons out over China? Of course there's a balloon up, why wouldn't we shoot it down? Like, this is like no American politician wants to have some unidentified object over Lake Huron because we have created such a, but not we're just shooting everything out of the sky.
