Tips for a Successful Career in the Big Wide World of Planning
Planning is a great career for the curious and empathetic. It touches all parts of our physical environment, but also our economy and society. As early as you can in your career, put yourself in the position of an applicant on behalf of a friend or family member who's totally unfamiliar with planning. Go work for a year or two in a design role in a practice to understand how challenging it is to design truly great buildings.
