The Role of Humerous Shaft Fractures in Radial Nerve Palsies

Himal shaft fractures account for 3-5% of all fractures and follow a bimodo distribution. Most humerous fractures can be treated nonoperatively with a co-optation splint followed by functional bracing. A strong relative indication for surgical management is a polytrauma patient. The humerous should be plated to facilitate early weight bearing allowing for mobilization with crutches.
