The Risks of Sky's Free-to-Air Deal With the ECB
Sky have got a deal with the ECB until 2028, and that includes a tournament. There is going to be another tournament until 2028 - but there's no guarantee it will take place. The counties rely on that 1.3 million they get from the 100,. That is now part of their bread and butter without it. We know that at least four counties are really struggling financially without it, that they would go to the wall. Without Sky's money, I don't, English cricket would be in a difficult place. And obviously, the English cricket sky too, they do need each other. But at the moment, there's not really anyone else in the market.
