The Importance of Ratio Spreads
A ratio spread is a trade where you sell one and buy more than one, usually two or four. A VIX is the quintessential product for a trade like this. We haven't seen a lot of them over the last year or two until this past couple of months. With VIX dropping back down into the teens, all of a sudden these ratio spreads are becoming more popular again.
