What's the Difference Between an Egyptian Archaeologist and a White Man?
There's been an idea that only white people, especially white men, get to be called an Egyptologist or an archaeologist. Howard Carter was working with a foreman named Akmed Girdgard when he discovered the Tomb of Tutor and Common. There were three other men named Hussein Akmed Sayid, Hussein Abu Awad, and Gadd Hassan who worked together with Carter. So they're the ones who were doing this delicate work, coordinating long hours of labor for him.
