The Day After Thanksgiving Was Black Friday
The earliest known reference to the day after thanksgiving being black friday dates to 19 51, from a periodical titled factory agement and maintenance. The author was comparing the malays being felt by workers across the nation to the bubonic plague, also known as the black death. It would take another decade before we would see the name black friday associated with shopping for the day after Thanksgiving.
