What Is the Concept of Truth in History?

The mediaeval understanding of history is very different to what we expect from a historian today. The notion of truth itself, or objectivity, is quite distinct from the notion of factual accuracy as we often understand it. And this is not something that we should expect from mediaeval historians - there's an obvious connection between them and our own society.
