Norfolk Southern CEO Alan Shaw, Response to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg Letter
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg sent a letter over the weekend in Norfolk Southern CEO, warning that the railroad must support the people of East Palestine, Ohio. Today the EPA ordered Norfolk to pay for the cleanup. I ask CEO Alan Shaw if he's been in touch with Secretary Buttigieg who has yet to visit the site and whether the secretary is involved on a day-to-day basis. We will invest in the future of this community and I'm committed to making Norfolk Southern a safer railroad.
