What Is a Black Hole?
A black hole is a corner of space where the shape of space is bent so much that light cannot escape it. If you have enough mass in one place, like the sun or the earth, then space is curved so much that even light can't escape it. Outside a black hole, you can only move forwards in time and not backwards. But nobody has ever seen inside a black hole because nothing can escape - not even light. So we can't take pictures of what's inside them.
