No matter what their system of time reckoning was, everybody thought the world was near its end. People in the Middle Ages thought they were living in very belatedly and in the last age of the world. They would make up long lists of okay, we know judgment is about to occur and how do we know that it's about to occur? So why exactly did they think this? What signs did they look to to confirm this?
