Do You Think Progress Is a Good Idea?

Do you think about the idea of progress in the sense that if we can keep fine examples of maybe the problems or the achievements of recent times in the past? Does that mean that humanity isn't really progressing or does it just mean that's not the way to understand it? I think it depends what you are looking at. What I do is to go to history to help to illuminate me rather than to push my ideas, because that would not be the work of a good presenter.
