I went to Sydney for a couple of years after I submitted myself in the Australian team and worked at Sydney Harbour forshore Authority. It was just a bit of a, I just wanted to get out of Perth for a year or two, I'd cemented myself,. So I went there to work just to experience life and get away from the Perth environment for a bit. But on the other hand, it does teach you a lot because in hockey, it is a world sport and there's a lot of connections... We actually have to learn as Australian men and women hockey players that we have to survive," he says. "We don't do it particularly right in this country"
