Are Affirmations Helpful for Self-Esteem?
If you're telling yourself, I am strong, I am lovable, powerful, those kind of things, then that can give you a nice little boost. But if you are someone who really doesn't believe those things about themselves, and they're really struggling with self-esteem and self doubt, it sets up this little argument in your own head. So affirmations are much more helpful if they're instructional about, you know, when this happens, do this, and you know, so that helps you to. Like athletes, for example, use those sorts of mantras or affirmations to get them through a process under pressure.
