How Did This Case Come to a Close?
The trial ended with, well, let's us say, s verdict. And there were a lot of questions still unanswered about who might have committed the crime. But from a sort of historian's point of view, it's rather pleasing because it allows you to trace the sort of after life of this story and what happened next to several of the major players. The encounter between the prime suspect and the phrenologist who wanted to find out his guilt is my favourite episode in the entire story.
