The males that tend to have the biggest knobs or the biggest horns are the ones that have an edge. The next generation of that population then offspring are going to inherit alleles which cause there to be a little knob. And those kids are going to do really well because they've got the bottle top opener so when they get into fights they do better than animals without that.
