The Assassination of Julius Caesar
Julius caesar's assassination marked the start of more than a decade's long struggle that ultimately ended in the rise of octavian, the later emperor. The mob dearly loves caesar for a whole host of reasons but they are uncertain about what he had intended for himself. With sar dead, with the most powerful man in rome dead, new figures became bastions of power and authority in the capital. And so thanks to this infamous assassination, forty four years on we have another huge day for another podecast - 40th march of Caesar.
