After what felt like an hour but was probably only a few minutes, I slowly pulled the blanket over my face and closed my eyes. My heart was beating so loud it felt like you could hear it outside of my chest. Eventually, I started doing some breathing exercises and calmed myself down enough to close my eyes and drift off.
