Was There a Rise in Spiritualism After the First World War?

Was there to any extent at which the death of kipling's son, or the death of conan doyle's son, fed into their work and had an impact on their writings? Certainly, kipling was a broken man after he learnt of the death of his son in 19 15. He wrote very little creative fiction after the first world war. And i think most of colonel doyl's works, his literary career, was principally before the first World War. So i don't know whether there is a sort of connection between the war and the rience of bereavement and death with the impact on the creative life of thes these writers are not.
