Julie: What do we know about the genetic and or developmental components of hip dysplasia? She says that breach presentation and being first born is associated with developing hip Dysplasia. There are several genes involved in developing hip dysplastic but there's also a developmental component, she adds. Julie: Do we know anything around why some people may remain asymptomatic but have the tablet of bone shape which is synonymous with dysplasia?" We really don't know who will develop symptoms and who will not," responds Dr Jenssen.
