I'm Not Defeating the US Social Contract, the Western Social Contract
The explosive and exponential nature of how much data matters to day-to-day life in the world is unlike anything we've ever seen from outside states before. I'm talking here about surveillance and surveillance capitalism, where human beings are not consumers, but instead are products and are treated as such. It's fundamentally subversive to the notion of the US social contract, the Western social contract. Yet it's the dominant way that a lot of Americans engage with capitalism today.
