The Importance of Sobers in Test Cricket
Sobers played attacking cricket during a very boring era of test crickets. There are only seven with strike rate data, but six of those were at strike rates above 50 in an era when scoring at 50 or 60 was pretty quick. He made 110 in just over two hours and 132 in less than three hours in Brisbane during the 6061 famous series. His one day international record is a bit different to his test record. One week at zero runs, because he played one match and made a duck. You can't credit the player with something they didn't actually achieve. So if you subtract the full string of numbers from the full number of other numbers, it's not 2375.
