Sally Kohn: Our society sends a lot of cultural messages about whose lives are more valuable and I think that this is so interesting. She says the opiate epidemic has been felt stronger in white rural areas than black populations because their pain isn't perceived the same. We need to address who's voices do we listen to, she says; take some time to listen to what people say about who they are  and try to honor them. SALLY KORN: One really easy way is that I could ask you and I could listen to you but we know that who is valuable to listen to in this country must be addressed.
