Mills run 24 hours a day, which means that two thirds of shifts are not working the eight to four shift. The wife's job is just kind of like hold this together by making two dinners instead of one and keeping the kids quiet during the day because their dad is sleeping. It's a very stressful experience to do a shift in a mill where you think you might die.
