The Ritties Incorruptible Cashier

The Rittie brothers filed for a patent in 1879 and received it later that year on November 4th. They started the National Manufacturing Company to build and market the first commercial model. After a couple years of dismal sales, they decided to cut their losses and return to the bar business full-time. The company is still around today and is now known as NCR Corporation.
